I neglect this journal during the most trying times. A great number among the Templars ride swiftly to meet the Knights of the Order head-on, while another handful of our strength clashes with criminal minds in Stormwind. Despite the threatening situation of the former, it is the bureaucracy-laden of the latter that poses a hidden threat.

Combating Scourge or demonic threats is a welcomed cause to many in Azeroth. But enforcing written law within a city proper, and all its tangled politics and policies will forever be a frustrating mystery to me. I prefer the sword and shield, without doubt or question.

The Templars hold no jurisdiction within Stormwind. We are visitors, and subject to every whim and law. Only a few Templars are citizens of Stormwind or its neighboring provinces, though it is likely that citizenship plays little role in the case of arrest. Trial, maybe. Initial arrest, no.

I dwell on this, as we consider setting brief sights on the loose organization that surrounds the Northfold family. It is clear that they are now deeply nestled within the city, and perhaps within the city's guard itself – it is also clear that they will not be ousted quietly.

And yet – though someone must intervene, the Templars are in no position to declare war on nothing more than a gang in the Stormwind streets. Vigilante justice is not always just, necessary or rewarded. I do not doubt two of the conditions listed, it is the third I question. We may be rewarded with arrest, and at a time when every Templar is a sword or spell needed most.

I hold no regard for politics, or discerning every ounce of superfluous law or rule. If the crimes connected to Northfold are to stop, then we must find a way to make the Stormwind Guard rise and take a firm stand. The Templars have no place in governing city law, there are far greater threats to meet across the battlefield.

A pause is apparent within the page, a blot of ink is visible, and the handwriting resumes with a slightly altered hand.

The 20th of March, I must make preparations to travel north, soon. Another anniversary come and gone. Once the Knights are dealt with, I will entertain such thoughts. For now, I cannot permit any waver in focus.
